Our Story

Wake Up Happy, Sis! started with one tired, successful woman.

Hi, I am LeAnne Dolce. I spent years doing everything right, being dependable, getting things done, and still waking up tired of being the strong one. This is the story of what changed, and the rooms I build now so you do not have to break down before you receive care.

My origin story

I did everything right. I still woke up empty.

This is not a rags to riches story. It is a full calendar, full inbox, full life story. The kind where everyone thinks you are fine because you keep delivering.

You do not need to become less powerful. You need a life that does not require you to abandon yourself to keep everything running.
Sis, I know this life because I lived it. What follows is how I found my way out, and why I build rooms for highly accomplished Black women walking the same road. - LeAnne
01
The strong one

Dependable everywhere. Depleted at home.

For years I was the one people called. At work, at home, in every room. I said yes fast. I fixed things. I held deadlines and people and plans together.

From the outside it looked like success. On the inside it felt like a race with no finish line. I kept telling myself rest could wait until everything was done. Everything was never done.

02
The wake up call

My body told the truth first.

Tired that sleep did not fix. Joy that felt far away even on good days. I stopped asking how to push harder and started asking a harder question.

What would my life look like if it had room for me too. That question changed everything. Not my ambition. Not my standards. My agreement to abandon myself to keep it all running.

03
Learning to receive

Boundaries. Rest. Help. Repeat.

Rest without guilt. Saying no without a long apology. Asking for help before I hit empty. At first it felt uncomfortable. Then it felt honest.

I built daily rhythms, real sisterhood, and rooms where I could be held instead of only holding everyone else. Small choices, kept over time, rebuilt my days from the inside out.

The room I needed then

Wake Up Happy, Sis! is that room.

First honest conversations and a podcast. Then community, retreats, and workshops for highly accomplished Black women who live the full life I lived.

One belief runs through all of it. You should not have to break down before you are allowed to receive care, support, rest, or joy. Your soft life is not about becoming less ambitious. It is about refusing to sacrifice yourself for the success you already earned.

How I live now

Soft life rules I actually keep.

Sis, self-care is not just what you do on Sunday with candles and a face mask. It is boundaries. Healing. Saying no. Asking for help. Rest. Community. Choosing yourself before you are forced to by a breakdown.

We are not against the candles. We are against pretending the candle is enough when your whole life is asking for a different way to live.

Why this exists

Highly accomplished Black women should not have to break down before they are allowed to receive care.

Wake Up Happy, Sis! grew from one belief: you should not have to choose between being powerful and being held.

Everybody's go-to.

But when you are the one struggling, there is no go-to for you.

Praised for holding it all.

While nobody stops long enough to ask whether you are actually okay.

Successful on paper.

But too exhausted to enjoy the life you worked so hard to build.

You do not need to become less powerful. You need a life that does not require you to abandon yourself to keep everything running.
Sis, I know this life because I lived it. This work is not about teaching you how to do more. It is about helping you finally make room for you. - LeAnne

What we believe

Self-care that changes your life, not just your Sunday.

“Self-care is candles and a face mask on Sunday.”
→
Real self-care is boundaries, healing, rest, and community that change your whole life.
“I say yes because saying no makes me feel selfish.”
→
I set boundaries without explaining, apologizing, or drowning in guilt.
“Rest is something I earn after everything is done.”
→
I rest because I am a human being, not because I finally finished an impossible list.
“I have to look strong even when I am falling apart.”
→
I let myself be seen, supported, and held without feeling weak.
